How Widows Receive Their Pension

Eligible beneficiaries receive 600 to 1000 rupees in monthly financial assistance through the Maharashtra Widow Stipend scheme 2025. Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) provides adequate transparency and minimal opportunities for corruption, as the stipend is directly deposited into beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

Gram Panchayats and Municipal Corporations are representative bodies of local government which administer and verify applications for the scheme. Every approved application results in a pension payment from district within a reasonable period, subject to document verification and, if needed, physical verification.

Eligibility for Maharashtra Widow Pension Scheme

• The applicant must be a resident of Maharashtra, Generally, the standard widow is between the ages of about 40-65.
• She must have lost her husband; she cannot remarry.
• The family income should not exceed approximately ₹1,000,000 per annum.
• Should not be receiving more government pension.
• Not employed by a public & semi-public institution.

• Find the “Apply Online” button, then fill out the application.
• Be sure to upload all evidence in its required format.
• Once you submit your application, you will receive an acknowledgement number in order to track your application.
• You also have an option to apply offline through your local Gram Panchayat.
